Harrogate Children’s Boutique Shortlisted for Prestigious Retail Award
Milk & Honey, a Harrogate-based clothing, toy, and gift boutique for babies and children up to 12 years, has been acknowledged as one of the UK’s best kidswear retailers by the prestigious Drapers Awards. The Awards are the most prestigious awards for the fashion industry, and bring together more than 1,000 industry leaders to celebrate and recognise the achievements of 20 of the most innovative and passionate fashion retailers and brands in the UK and Republic of Ireland. The boutique, located on Cheltenham Parade, was included on a shortlist of just four in the ‘Kidswear Retailer of the Year’ category of the 2009 awards.
Milk & Honey opened its doors in March this year, and since then has gone from strength to strength at a time when most retailers have had to tighten their belts and fight for survival. Owners Hannah and John-Paul are delighted with the Drapers achievement: “As a fairly new retailer on the scene it is fantastic to have made the Drapers shortlist already! This is testimony to all the hard work we have put into the business over the past year. We carefully select high quality and distinctive products from across the globe to ensure that our range is both diverse and unique.”
Milk & Honey has now built up a loyal customer base comprising discerning shoppers for whom only the best is good enough. Hannah adds “What really sets us apart is the quality and choice of items we stock - they make ideal gifts, whether for a new baby or fashion conscious pre-teen, we have something for everyone.”
Hannah and her partner John-Paul are now looking to the future and have recently enhanced the Milk & Honey website to enable customers to purchase items online. They are also hoping to be expanding the shop into adjacent premises early next year as they are keen to increase the floor space, so they can offer customers a wider product range.
